The beaches area of Jacksonville stretches from the Atlantic ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway. The beaches area of Jacksonville went through a major real estate boom over past 10 years and experienced emense growth and rejuvenation. Until recently, Jacksonville beach was one of the only major metropolises without high-rise ocean front condominiums. This changed at the turn of the century and Jacksonville beach is now lined with many high-end, luxury, sky rise condominiums. Jacksonville beach offers many traditional single family homes and family friendly neighborhoods as well. The area of Jacksonville beach consists of several different areas, Jacksonville beach, Neptune beach, Atlantic beach, and Mayport. Neptune beach is only about a mile long and Atlantic beach isn’t much larger, these areas offer tree lined streets, charming shops, local eateries, and a laid back feel. Mayport is home to Mayport Naval Station and consists of mainly military housing and condominums. Homes in the Mayport area are the least expensive of all the beach areas.
