VA Life Insurance Program Scores High in Veteran Satisfaction

VA’s Life Insurance Program received a strong customer satisfaction score of 81 on a scale of 100 from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), an independent survey that scores customer satisfaction for more than 300 private companies and federal and local government agencies.

MESSAGE FROM THE VA UNDER SECRETARY FOR HEALTH

On April 19, I testified before the House Veteran Affairs Committee during a hearing related to delays in Veteran’s Access to Healthcare. In the course of that hearing, a member of the Committee said that it was his understanding that the Department of Veterans Affairs refused to fire a VA Caribbean Health Care System employee who was convicted of an armed robbery in Puerto Rico. The member further asked what VA was doing to ‘take care of the situation.’

VA Secretary Joins Others in Pledge to Donate their Brains to VA-lead TBI Research Program

Today the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert A. McDonald announced that he, along with three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Nancy Hogshead-Makar and former NFL player and Super Bowl champion Phil Villapiano, have pledged to donate their brains to advance brain research ?conducted by VA in partnership with the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

New Members Appointed to VA Advisory Committee on Women Veterans

Five new members were recently appointed to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Advisory Committee on Women Veterans (Committee), an expert panel that advises VA’s Secretary on issues and programs impacting women Veterans. Established in 1983, the Committee makes recommendations to the Secretary for policy and legislative changes.
‘The Committee’s guidance is instrumental in shaping VA policy for women Veterans, and providing insight on their diverse needs,’ said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert A. McDonald. ‘VA anticipates the important contributions and fresh perspectives the newest members will offer to this invaluable Committee.’

VA Announces Future Site of the VA National Archives

The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced that the Dayton VA Medical Center has been officially selected as the site for the National Department of Veterans Affairs Archives. Secretary Robert A. McDonald made the announcement this morning speaking to a group of Dayton-area leaders.
