VA Caribbean Healthcare System Lauded for Medical Education

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Caribbean Healthcare System today was awarded the prestigious Accreditation Council for Graduate Education and Gold Foundation’s DeWitt C. Baldwin, Jr. Award. The award recognizes institutions with accredited residency/fellowship programs that are ‘exemplary in fostering a respectful, supportive environment for medical education and the delivery of patient care.’ The award was presented during a ceremony in National Harbor, MD.

DoD and VA kick off new Interagency Coordination of Complex Care Effort

The Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs today announced its ongoing effort to ease the transition for service members who require complex care management as they transition from the DoD system of health care to VA or within each system. The effort is designed to ease the burden for service members and Veterans, who have suffered illnesses or injuries so severe as to require the expertise provided by multiple care specialties throughout both Departments.

VA Makes Awards Totaling up to $4.6 Billion to Streamline its Medical Surgical Supply Chain

The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced the awarding of four major contracts that will bolster its ability to deliver timely health care to the nation’s Veterans. The contracts make up a $4.6 billion Medical Surgical Prime Vendor Next-Generation Program (MSPV-NG) acquisition, and represent a major step forward in supply chain modernization – a ‘breakthrough priority’ of the Department’s MyVA transformation effort.
